It's 2010 and a start of a new year to get involved with JDRF! We need a cure more than ever for juvenile diabetes (type 1 diabetes).
Our Central IL Walk to Cure Diabetes is in September at the Glen Oak Park in Peoria, IL. If you do not live near Peoria, go to www.jdrfillinois.org to find a local walk near you!
It isn't just a walk, it's fun! I sometimes think of it as a lot of work because I'm always involved with either publicity or something else. This year I am the chair of the volunteer committee and on the publicity committee. But when it's all over, and our Peoria walk has raised a phenominal amount (again) I feel proud to have been involved with something so big and wonderful! It's the only day of the year that we all come together, speaking of our team "Hope for Hanna", just for one reason, for Hanna. She goes through so much day to day, on the day of the walk, it's her reward!
Do you have a child with diabetes or love someone that does? That's the only question I need to ask!
